Legal stuff ahead: These terms might not be thrilling, but they're essential. They establish the ground rules for using Oathian and clarify what both sides can expect. Take a few minutes to read through.
Welcome to Oathian! We built this platform with one goal: turning commitments into achievements through community support. These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding legal contract between you and Oathian governing your access to and use of our application.
Creating an account or using any part of Oathian constitutes your acceptance of these Terms. If you can't accept them, you shouldn't use our platform.
Real people only: Oathian is designed for genuine human interaction. Bots, automated systems, and AI agents aren't welcome here.
To use Oathian, you must:
By using Oathian, you represent that you meet these requirements. If you're creating an account on behalf of a company or organization, you confirm you have the legal authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
Your privacy matters to us. How we collect, use, and protect your information is explained in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms.

For details on data retention and deletion, see our Data Retention Policy.
When you use Oathian, you create content—oaths, fulfilment photos, comments, and more. Here's how ownership and licensing work:
You retain ownership of everything you create on Oathian. Your oaths, photos, comments, and profile information belong to you. We don't claim ownership of your content.
By posting content on Oathian, you grant us a license to use it. Here's what that means:
Content Shared with Friends (Your Followers):
You grant Oathian a limited license to store, display, and deliver your content to the people you choose and Oathian users in general. This is necessary for the app to work.
Marketing Use: We may like to feature your oaths or fulfilments in marketing materials (like app store screenshots or social media).
Content Shared Publicly:
When you share oaths or fulfilments publicly, you grant Oathian a broader license: a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works, display, and perform your content.
What this means: We can show your public content to other users, allow sharing features, create thumbnails, and ensure the service works smoothly. You won't receive compensation for this—your use of the free service is the consideration.
You are responsible for everything you post. Make sure you have the right to share any content you upload (especially photos that include other people). Don't post content you don't have permission to share.
By posting content, you represent that:

Our failure to enforce any right or provision in these Terms doesn't waive our right to enforce it later. All rights and remedies are cumulative.
You can't transfer or assign these Terms or your Oathian account without our written consent. We may assign these Terms to an affiliate or successor (for example, if we're acquired). We'll notify you if this happens.
These Terms don't create any third-party beneficiary rights. Only you and Oathian can enforce these Terms.
We're not liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, pandemics, wars, terrorism, strikes, or internet outages.
